Browsers, devices and connection tips

Choose a device and browser, test venue Wi-Fi and keep your player identity when returning to a session.

Neegma runs in a web browser. Hosts and players do not need to install an app.

Choose a device

Players: use a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Open the player link or scan the QR code, enter a name, and follow the prompts. Some games use the device for private words, roles, or answers, so each player should join separately.

Hosts: a laptop or desktop gives you more space to manage the lobby, read controls, and connect a TV or projector. Test the layout first if you plan to host from a phone or tablet.

For remote games, players can keep the meeting on a computer and use a phone for Neegma. If they use one device for both, they need to be able to see or hear the host while returning to their game tab.

Which browser should I use?

Start with an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. Neegma does not publish a tested minimum-version matrix; update an older browser before the event and run a practice game on the devices you expect people to use.

If a link opens inside a messaging or social app and behaves unexpectedly, copy it into your normal browser. Use that browser tab for the rest of the session.

Internet and venue Wi-Fi

The online host and player views need an internet connection throughout play. Connecting the host laptop to a TV does not make the player session work without internet.

At a venue, check that guests can connect to Wi-Fi and complete any network sign-in page. Try joining and submitting an answer on that network before the event. If the network blocks the connection, ask the venue's IT team or try another available connection.

Keep your session tab available

Neegma remembers a player's join details in the browser tab. Return to the same tab and browser after a brief interruption, and use Rejoin if offered.

A new browser, a different device, or cleared browser data may not carry that player identity over. A private-browsing session can also lose its data when closed. Avoid clearing storage as a first troubleshooting step.

Hosts should keep the host page open and their device awake while running a game. A reloaded host page may not preserve the exact state of a live turn.

If something does not work

If you contact support, include the device, browser, error message, and which step failed. A screenshot is useful, but keep private host links and account details out of it.
